Privacy Policy

Hooray handles some of the most personal data there is — your wedding, your people, your photos. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the promises we make about it. We wrote it to be read.

Effective June 29, 2026

The short version
  • You bring your wedding details and guest list; we use them for exactly one job — running your wedding’s guest communication. We never sell personal information, and we never share it with advertisers.
  • If you’re a guest: a couple you know invited you. You mostly hear from us by text — no app to install. Your schedule and personal tools use a one-time code on your phone (no password). Reply STOP to any text and the messages stop — immediately, absolutely, and only you can turn them back on.
  • Our AI answers guest questions using only details the couple confirmed — and only details meant for that guest. That filter is enforced in code, not by hoping the AI behaves.
  • Photos guests share are screened for safety, private by default, and removable by the guest who shared them.
  • Your wedding data doesn’t live here forever — we keep it while you need it, and you can ask us to delete it anytime.
  • Questions or requests: support@gethooray.app.

A friendly summary, not the binding text — that’s the sections below.

1.Who we are & what this covers

Hooray is a wedding guest-communication concierge operated by Corsa Collective, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Hooray,” “we,” “us”). This policy covers everything we run: the website at gethooray.app, the Hooray app couples and their helpers use, the guest-facing pages guests reach from text messages (schedule, RSVP, Ask Hooray, contact forms, and photo pages), and the text messages sent through Hooray (together, the “Service”).

Hooray is offered to people in the United States. It isn’t currently offered to residents of the European Union or United Kingdom, and this policy is written for U.S. law.

One honest note: Hooray is growing, and some features described here (like live text messaging and the photo gallery) roll out progressively. We’ve written this policy to cover them from the start so it doesn’t change underneath you when they arrive.

2.Three kinds of people

This policy talks to three different readers:

  • Hosts — couples and the helpers they invite (partners, maids of honor, planners). Hosts have accounts and bring data into Hooray.
  • Guests— the people invited to a wedding. Guests don’t install an app; they mostly hear from us by text. When they open their personal schedule, manage RSVP, or use Ask Hooray, they verify with a one-time code on their phone (or Google sign-in) — no password. Some information is provided by the couple, which gives them a special place in this policy (see If you’re a guest).
  • Visitors — anyone browsing our website.

3.What we collect

From hosts

  • Account information — your name, email address, and phone number (we verify your number with a text code, since texting is how Hooray works). If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile it shares (name, email).
  • Your wedding’s details — dates, venues, schedules, dress codes, hotel blocks, transportation, registry links, FAQs, and anything else you add so the concierge can answer for you.
  • Content you bring in — your wedding website, uploaded files, pasted text, or documents you choose from connected storage. If your wedding website has a passcode, we use it to read the site the way a guest would. If you choose to save it for re-reading later, it is encrypted at rest and never shown again — only the wedding details we extracted are stored in plain form.
  • Your guest list— described in the next subsection, because it’s information about other people.
  • Messages and preferences — the messages you write, approve, or schedule; your conversations with the Hooray assistant about your wedding; your voice and tone choices; your concierge settings.
  • Purchase information — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive confirmation of your purchase and the last digits of your card; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Referral activity — if you share a referral link, we track which signups came from it so we can credit you.

About guests

Most guest information comes from the couple; some comes from guests directly (an RSVP reply, a form the couple shared, a question texted in). Depending on the wedding, it can include:

  • Contact details — name, phone number, email, mailing address.
  • Wedding context — household and party groupings, which events and groups a guest belongs to, RSVP status, plus-one details, meal choices and dietary needs, and preferred language.
  • Messages— texts a guest sends to the wedding’s number (questions, RSVPs, well-wishes) and the replies sent back.
  • Photos— photos a guest chooses to upload to the couple’s gallery, when that feature is available.
  • Consent history — a record of opt-ins and opt-outs (we keep this so a STOP is honored, permanently).
  • Delivery details— whether messages are reaching a number, and a coarse timezone inferred from the number’s area code (so nobody gets a 6am text).
  • Sign-in details — when a guest verifies their phone or signs in with Google, we keep a session so they can return to their schedule and settings. We link that verified contact to their wedding membership. Guests never set a password.

Automatically

  • Logs — IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, kept for security and debugging.
  • Cookies — we use cookies to keep hosts and signed-in guests authenticated and the Service working. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. If we add product analytics, it will be to understand how Hooray itself is used — never to follow you around the internet — and we’ll name the provider here.

4.How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Run your wedding’s communication — send the messages hosts schedule and approve, answer guest questions, collect RSVPs, manage the guest list, and route everything to the right people.
  • Power the AI concierge — described fully in the next section.
  • Keep people safe and the Service compliant — screen uploaded photos (including legally required scanning for child sexual abuse material), honor opt-outs, enforce quiet hours, prevent abuse, and protect message deliverability.
  • Support you— answer your emails and fix problems, which can involve looking at your account’s data with your issue in hand.
  • Improve Hooray — our (small) team may review conversations, extractions, and product usage to debug problems and make answers more accurate, including keeping real examples as internal test cases so a bug we fixed stays fixed. Access is limited to people who need it, this data is never sold, and it is never given to anyone else for their own purposes.
  • Bill and account — process purchases, credits, and referral rewards.
  • Talk to hosts — service messages about your wedding and account, and occasional product updates you can opt out of anytime.
  • Talk to guests only as the couple — unless you ask us not to. Guests hear from us on the couple’s behalf about that wedding. We send guests Hooray’s own messages (like tips for planning their own celebration) only if they separately opt in — never by default, and they can opt out anytime.
  • Meet legal obligations — comply with law, legal process, and mandatory reporting (see Photos).

5.AI, plainly

Hooray uses AI in two places: reading the wedding details you bring in (your website, uploads, pasted text become structured facts you confirm), and answering guest questions in your voice.

The AI only ever sees details the couple has confirmed — and only the details meant for the guest who’s asking. A guest outside the wedding party can’t get a wedding-party-only answer, because those details are filtered out in code, before the AI is involved. If the AI doesn’t have a confirmed answer, it says so and hands the question to the couple — it doesn’t guess.
  • Who processes it:we use Anthropic’s Claude models as our AI provider. Content sent for processing is handled under our agreement with them; our AI vendors do not use your content to train their models.
  • Guests always know: the first text every guest receives identifies the couple and discloses that an automated assistant helps answer questions.
  • Opting out is never AI: replying STOP is handled by simple, deterministic keyword matching before any AI sees the message. An opt-out cannot be misunderstood.
  • Humans stay in the loop: couples can see and correct everything sent in their name, and our team may review conversations to keep answers accurate and safe (see How we use information).

6.Text messaging

Texting is how Hooray reaches guests, so here are the rules we hold ourselves to:

  • Consent first.Hosts may only add guests they have permission to share and message (it’s in our Terms), and some guests sign themselves up through a form the couple shares. Either way, every guest’s first message identifies the couple, explains what to expect, and says how to opt out.
  • STOP, HELP, START work — always.Reply STOP and messages stop immediately. Reply HELP for help. Opting back in is the guest’s choice alone: we never re-subscribe anyone, and couples can’t either.
  • Quiet hours. No scheduled messages between 9pm and 9am in the applicable timezone.
  • Privacy between weddings. If a guest opted out at one wedding, we never reveal to another couple which wedding that was.
  • Practical notes: message frequency varies by wedding; message and data rates may apply per your mobile plan.
No mobile phone numbers or opt-in data are ever sold, and mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone for marketing.

7.Photos & the gallery

When photo sharing is available, guests can upload photos to the couple’s gallery from a link in a text — no app to install. Here’s how we treat them:

  • Screened before anyone sees them.Every uploaded photo is automatically scanned. We are required by law to detect apparent child sexual abuse material and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC); matched content is quarantined and never shown. Explicit content is removed automatically.
  • Private by default. Photos are visible to the couple and their helpers. Nothing is public unless the couple chooses to feature it on their shareable feed.
  • Location data stripped. Anything made public has embedded photo metadata (like GPS location) removed first.
  • Guests stay in control of their own.A guest can return to their upload link to see what they’ve shared and remove any of it. Guests never see other guests’ uploads or the couple’s full gallery.
  • Retention. Galleries stay available for 90 days after the wedding (up to 2 years if the couple earned extended gallery access), then may be removed.

8.If you're a guest

In plain words: someone you love is getting married and put you on their list. Here's what that means and what you control.

You’re reading this because a couple added you to their wedding on Hooray (or you added yourself through a form they shared). The couple provided your contact details so we could send you their wedding updates and answer your questions on their behalf. Here’s what you control:

  • Text-first, no app. You mostly hear from us by normal text message. Nothing to download from an app store.
  • Sign in only when it helps. Your personal schedule, managing your RSVP, and Ask Hooray use your phone number and a one-time verification code — or Google sign-in if you prefer. No password. Sharing contact details through a form the couple shared can still work without signing in.
  • Stop anytime.Reply STOP to any text. It’s honored immediately and permanently — no path in our product can text you again unless you choose to come back.
  • Your details, your updates. After you sign in, you can update your response, plus-ones, address, and dietary needs yourself. Some couples also share a form that works without signing in.
  • Your photos. You can remove anything you uploaded, anytime, from the same link you used to share it.
  • Your data rights. You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email support@gethooray.app (see Your privacy rights).

Two honest caveats. First, the couple controls their guest list and wedding content, so for some requests (like “take me off the list”) we may route you to them or handle it together. Second, if you opt out and ask us to delete your data, we keep one minimal record — your number on the do-not-text list — because deleting it would un-do your opt-out.

We never sell guest information, never use it for advertising, and never contact guests for our own marketing. You hear from Hooray about one thing: the wedding you were invited to.

9.When we share information

We share personal information only in the ways below. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service providers working for us

Companies that run parts of Hooray under contract, only as needed to do their job for us:

Vercel
Hosts and serves the application.
Supabase
Database, authentication, and file storage.
Anthropic
AI processing (extraction and replies). Does not train on your content.
Stripe
Payment processing. We never hold full card numbers.
Texting providers
Carriers and messaging providers (such as Twilio) that deliver texts and verification codes when live messaging is enabled.
Media storage
Object storage (such as Cloudflare) for gallery photos, when the gallery is live.

Inside your wedding

The couple and the helpers they invite can see their wedding’s guest information, conversations, and photos — that’s the product. Guests see only their own information, never other guests’.

Safety & legal

  • Reports of apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC, as required by law.
  • Responses to valid legal process, and disclosures necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of Hooray, our users, or the public.
  • If Hooray is ever acquired or merged, your information may transfer with the company — under this policy’s protections, and we’d notify hosts first.

10.How long we keep things

Weddings end; your data shouldn’t live here forever. Our defaults:

While you use Hooray
Wedding data is kept for the life of your account so the Service works.
After the wedding
Your account stays available for at least 12 months, so you can look back on the day whenever you like. After that, we may tidy up and delete or de-identify wedding data — guest lists, messages, your assistant conversations, details — unless you keep your account active. You can always ask us to delete it sooner.
Gallery photos
Available for 90 days after the wedding, then may be removed — or up to 2 years if the couple earned extended gallery access.
Opt-out records
Kept as long as needed to keep honoring them. This is the one thing we deliberately don't delete.
Purchase records
Kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Hosts can request deletion of their wedding earlier at any time (see Your privacy rights).

11.How we protect it

  • Isolation by design.Every wedding’s data is walled off with database-level access rules; people can only reach weddings they belong to.
  • Scoping enforced in code. The audience filters that keep wedding-party details away from the wrong guests are architectural, not configuration.
  • No guest passwords. Guests verify with a one-time code sent to their phone (or Google sign-in). Personalized schedule, RSVP, and Ask Hooray require that verification. Low-stakes contact-sharing forms use signed, private links instead — nothing for guests to have stolen or remember.
  • The basics, done properly. Encryption in transit, secrets kept server-side, least-privilege access for our team, and audit logs on sensitive actions.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe you’ve found a vulnerability or that your data has been exposed, email support@gethooray.app— security reports go to the top of the pile. If a breach affects your personal information, we’ll notify you as the law requires.

12.Your privacy rights

Depending on your state, you may have legal rights to your personal information. We extend these to everyone — host or guest, any state:

  • Know & access — ask what personal information we have about you and receive a copy in a portable format.
  • Correct — fix inaccurate information.
  • Delete — ask us to delete your personal information (with the narrow exceptions described in this policy, like opt-out records and legally required records).
  • Opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising — we don’t sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising in the first place, so there’s nothing to opt out of. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal where the law requires it.
  • No retaliation — exercising your rights never changes how the Service treats you.

To exercise any of these, email support@gethooray.appfrom the email or phone number we have for you (or describe the wedding you were a guest at). We’ll verify it’s really you, respond within the time your state’s law requires (generally 45 days), and if we decline a request, we’ll explain why and how to appeal. You may also use an authorized agent, with proof you’ve authorized them.

13.Children

You must be 18 or older to create a Hooray account. Our guest pages aren’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Couples sometimes include family members who are minors on their guest list (a kids’ meal, a family RSVP) — that information is provided by and managed under the responsibility of the couple. If you believe a child’s information was provided to us in a way it shouldn’t have been, email support@gethooray.appand we’ll remove it.

14.Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is material — especially one that affects guests or expands how we use data — we’ll notify hosts directly and give the change time to be read before it takes effect. We will never quietly weaken the promises in the guest and sharing sections.
